Making it to Rohn, Ed Plumb

My most vivid memory of Rob was back during the 2009 ITI when I skied out of a 24 hr storm on Rainy Pass and down the Tatina River toward Rohn. I was emotionally wrecked from breaking trail and not sleeping, and then this apparition appeared out of the blowing snow and dim twilight on a snowmachine. He pulled up to me and peeled back his face mask and with the warmest smile said “hey Ed, its Rob. We have been waiting for you.” And then he gave me the biggest hug and congratulated me for making it to Rohn. It was a monumental boost for me to see someone I knew at that moment and someone so full of genuine kindness.
